Well it wasn’t THAT bad…
By: Mostafa | November 14th, 2008This pretty much summarizes the match, (i know it’s from 03 but it was suitable enough)
Good points of the match;

————————————————————————————————-
OK, now let’s see the negatives;
————————————————————————————————

Players and coaches opinion:
“I’m optimistic about the future, despite the defeat against Juventus,” declared the former Parma coach to Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The work to be done is long and important in order to reach our objective, that of becoming a permanent fixture in Serie A, but I know quite well the quality of the squad, club and fans.
“On the pitch I saw a good Chievo side which was aggressive and attacked the spaces by holding the positions well. However, there needs to be an improvement, for sure.”
Di Carlo also wanted to compliment Alessandro Del Piero, who is enjoying an excellent period of form.
“He’s a great champion and the fans know this,” he concluded.
That was MR Di Coacho
“The reality is that we lost another game, even though there were positive signs,” declared the Chievo goalkeeper. “It’s a pity, because until their first goal we had seen a good Chievo side.
“I think that the team expressed a good football for the first fifty minutes. We held the ball and contained our opponent.
“In the end I think that if Juve managed to score from just two set-pieces, then we must have done something good too.
“We managed to put the Bianconeri in difficulty at times. Now, as the coach said, we must start again from the first half of last Sunday.”
Even GK’s Have opinions these days!
Di Carlo said after the game, “The debut has been bitter only because of the result, which was a bit too punishing, but not because of the performance. I asked the guys three things, more closing down of the opponents, more space, and more quality in the second half, and they listened to me.
“The only thing missing was the goal because of the finishing. We have to improve in this and in our intensity.”
The Coacho again!

Now Some player ratings:
(borrowed from goal.com i might add) lol they are just horrible at ratings
CHIEVO
Sorrentino – 7.0: Made a brilliant penalty save from Iaquinta, but could no nothing on the striker’s follow-up. Also helpless to stop Del Piero’s stunning free kick.
Malago – 6.0: Made no impact at all as an attacking force, but relatively sound defensively, where he limited De Ceglie.
Mandelli - 6.0: Did nothing majorly wrong in defence, although he was troubled by the pace of Iaquinta in the second half.
Yepes - 6.0: Robust display from ‘Super Mario’, but he could not stop Chievo from falling to their fourth straight defeat.
Mantovani – 5.0: Had a difficult time against Marchionni at times, and gave away the penalty for Juve’s second goal after handling the ball.
Pinzi – 5.5: Was once one of Italy’s most promising young midfielders, but he has completely lost his way after a succession of injuries.
Bentivoglio - 6.0: Fiery display from the midfielder, who never stopped getting stuck in, without any reward.
Marcolini – 6.0: Like Bentivoglio, Marcolini tried his utmost in midfield, but could not create enough for those in front of him.
Langella - 6.5: Caused Mellberg the odd problems down the left in the first half with his pace and trickery, but his final ball let him down, and he was replaced just after the hour mark.
Pellissier – 5.0: If Chievo were to get anything from this game they needed Pellissier to take his chances. Two gilt-edged opportunities came his way, and he fluffed both.
Esposito – 6.0: Had a very bright start to the game, and created an excellent chance for Pellissier on 10 minutes. Faded, and was eventually substituted.
Subs: Luciano 6.0, Iunco 6.0, D’Anna N/A
JUVENTUS
Manninger - 6.0: Did not have too many saves to make, but did all that was asked of him with minimal fuss.
Mellberg – 6.0: A few nervy moments in the first half against Langella, but he was rock solid in the second half.
Legrottaglie – 6.5: Lost Pellissier for the striker’s chance on 10 minutes, but apart from this he was solid once again.
Chiellini - 7.0: The standout player in the Juve defence once again. Strong, quick, and unbeatable in the air.
Molinaro - 6.0: Suspect at the start of the game, as he was sleeping in the build-up to Pellissier’s chance, but he did improve. Crossing was poor again though.
Marchionni – 7.0: Getting better game by game, and this afternoon he showed some good trickery down the right wing. His delivery was also good. A useful player at Ranieri’s disposal if he can stay fit.
Sissoko - 7.0: Was perhaps Juventus’ most dominant midfielder during the first half, and he went close to scoring on six minutes. Substituted at half time by Ranieri.
Tiago – 6.5: Showing more personality than he was last season, and may give Juve better balance than Poulsen. Still not completely convincing though.
De Ceglie - 6.0: Surprisingly preferred to Giovinco, and did his job down the left flank without really lighting up the game.
Del Piero – 8.5: It has been a simply incredible week for Del Piero. A third free kick in as many games, and a third man-of-the-match performance. Ranieri described Del Piero as “magical” after the match, and that is exactly what he was.
Iaquinta - 7.0: Worked like a horse all match, and was rewarded with the second goal after following-up the penalty he won and then saw saved.
Subs: Ekdal 6.0, Grygera 6.5, Amauri N/A
Well that’s all for me for today. This was the lates match preview in the history of match previews i know, but i’m really sorry i was out of town recently sorry!, and if samson can’t do the Ac Milan Preview i will, but i sure hope he does it!

I would love to get one of those Chievo Long Sleeve Jerseys. But they are so hard to get. Geez, I would prob have to fly to Chievo and rob someone, a player, for one of them.

I have it it before, Sorrentino is a good keeper. I always see highlights of him making exceptional stops. If only he had a better backline in front of him, his numbers would be exeptional.
Milan? Milan who? Lecce held them up. Now lets see Chievo beat they ass

hell no mostafa, I refuse to think that Chievo will not share in Milan’s spoils, I count this as a successful game for Chievo……

Hell, no surprise uh fellas?
Another team, Chievo, gets fucked over for 3 points because of bad refereeing. And, another top flight team barely scrapes past one of the newly-promoted teams.
Disgrazie!
