Palermo 3-0 Chievo. Almost What I Expected
By: Samson | November 3rd, 2008
Well, I actualy got a chance to see this one thanks to the rosanero Gigi (one of the few classy rosanero’s) So as expected, Chievo was drilled but not fairly.
Score Sheet
Palermo
23′ F.Miccoli (Penalty)
37′ S.Kjær
45′ E.Cavani
Chievo
Zero, zip, nothing, nada
Bookings
Palermo
39′ M.Bresciano (yellow) 47′ (red)
70′ M.Carrozieri (yellow)
Chievo
22′ M.Yepes (yellow)
59′ D.Mandelli (yellow)
My thoughts short and sweet cause I hate Palermo plus i need to go see my son’s baseball game.
Miccoli penalty, not a penalty. It was a dive.
The ref failed to give us a penalty (what do you expect from these refs?)
Ref did not give us a deserved free kick.
Cavani cried like a bitch throughout the whole game.
It was possible that if… and only if the ref was on point, we could have left with a 2-2 draw
Iachini, Iachini, Iachini…
Not good for this man. After losing to a 10 man Palermo (didnt even get on the score sheet) his position in Chievo is being looked at and might end up being sacked this week or the next or the next…
Dont think it is fair if the board fires him after the Juve result. Unless the whole ladroni squad gets bird flu, we do not stand a chance.

Oh ya. Well, #1 and #3 would certainly rule out a lot of what goes on around the Serie A board.

Ok Lorenzo, you guys played some good football i admit that. You dominated the 1st half, no doubt.
Cmon, realy? Do you not agree that the first penalty was just silly. It was almost as bad as a CR7 dive. He was barely next to him (was it Kjaer?). He was actualy ducking away from Kjaer when the “foul” took place.look at the highlights bro.
BTW, just having a calcio discussion with you. I think what you did when i offered truce was cool. That being said i dont mind having a few friendly calcio discussions with ya.

Well, since the game was at 6am my time, I only saw the last 15 minutes. I would really like to hear from Alessandro, a very rational and fair man, about that “dive” that was marked as a penalty in the 23′
So overall, the damm refs did another poor job, uh? They should get paid based on how the do their job, but only after the game and all their calls have been reviewed. I bet that will solve alot of Lega Calcio’s problems.

Funny, “Cavani cried like a bitch throughout the whole game.” Even after his goal?……….

I am still and always will be in favor for technology in football adopted from rugby.

I feel so bad for Iachini…..another poor guy about to lose his job because of the circumstances.
Yes, I agree that the Juventus game will be tough. Although I truly think that Roma made Juventus look better than what they are.

Yes, I already hear damm alessio gathering his bitter thoughts……..but then tell me what other team, other than a struggling team, has Juventus looked good against?
Wasn’t the Roma game the best game that Juvents played? But then we can say the same of all other Roma opponents, they have all looked great against them.Posted from

I know man, the football world really, really, needs to push for that Technology. All refs, in all leagues, are messing up so many games, and so many chances for many teams!

Real Madrid, Bologna, Torino..

I just saw the video again, but from my perspective, that should NOT have been a Palermo penalty.
Yes, Samson, I also agree that Chievo got robbed of a penalty as well. The evidence is there in the video.

Oh yes, Real madrid, I forgot about that one. Wins against Bologna, Torino, and Roma hardly deserve any praise, because of the opposition……Hey, nevertheless, a win is a win.

To be honest, I still haven’t seen a “clear” view of the penalty call. All the footage I’ve seen has come in the form of grainy youtube videos. Therefore, I can’t say whether it was a questionable decision or not because from what I’ve seen there hasn’t been a definitive answer either way, in my opinion.
Nonetheless, the problem with Cavani has been his wasted chances. It seems he has about 15 chances every game, and always seems to put the ball across the face of the goal, or right at the keeper. However, the other thing is he’s still young…and the kid is tireless when it comes to running. It’s insane to see this kid run a full 90 lol. If he starts getting some finishing consistency, he is going to be dangerous. Other funny thing is, if you compare him to Amauri right now, you’d notice that he only has one less goal then the great Amaurinho (5) with 4 for the year.

What would some of you think about what some of us think, that FIFA should resort to some sort of Technological usage. Its long over due. This game is so important, why not use try it, let alone implement it and use it?
The NFL has a pretty consistent and reliable system. In fact, I think its impressive. I don’t know a thing about Rugby, as Samson suggests.

Chievo is one point over the bottom dwellers Reggina. In fact, Chievo has A win.
Obviously with this team, a win is impossible to imagine, let alone happen. I think that some serious money is exchanged by the ultra rich Chievo elite “Big Boss” and teh referees that are making this happen.
It’s a two way street. Somehow some way, refs are getting bushelfuls on money. And Chievo get to have an improbable win… at least with this talent level.
I really believe it, therefore it MUST be true.

kj, by rules i don’t mean if-you-don’t-follow-them-i-will delete-your-comments rules, i mean simple guidelines to avoid what happened with giro, just 7 simple out of the way guidelines that’s all, for example i don’t want you guys to argue about roma here, roma do have a blog.
but it’s great that everyone here is already forgetting roma. maybe i won’t need to post it anyway!JUVE – CHIEVO is coming up next but before that i might just make a MID WEEK NEWS post

On the rigore, it is difficult to tell from the h/l clips but that night on Controcampo, they showed the Yepes-foul in magnified slo-mo and it showed Kjaer clearly got nudged from behind, hence the pk stands.
