Guess who is back!

By: Samson | May 19th, 2009

After my very fun and beautiful surfing trip through Australia I am finally back. Thanks to the great waves I have missed a lot of Serie A this season. Looking at some of the Chievo results; I got to say, I am happy. They have done very well against the big dogs. Draws against Juve, *Inter, Genoa and Roma are impressive for any promoted club.

A little piece of news

Give us a license… NOW!

Apparently, Chievo has submitted a request to the High Courts Of Justice of Sport for a UEFA license after being rejected along with 4 other teams. Want to know who they are? Just look at the bottom of the standings. (exclude Torino and Catania)

The Battle

Good news is that we are just about safe from relegation. The only team that has a possibility to leap over us is none other than the same team we face this weekend. Yep! you guessed it Bologna. Bologna is on 33 points and we are on 37. A win or a draw will guarantee another season of top flight calcio for Ceo. A loss would mean a relegation decider on the final day. We will face Napoli on their home turf and Bologna will face Catania at home on their final day.

Torino has 2 very tough matches: Genoa and Roma. Personally, I think that there is no way in hell that they will pick up more than 3 points If Bologna get lucky, we could see Torino falling to Serie B.

Thanks

I’m a very bad blogger but I have managed to make one great decision while going down this Chievo blogging road. That decision was to request the help of Mostafa. Thanks a lot buddy. You have done more than well.

You guys run a great blog here and have made me somewhat of a Chievo fan. That being said, as a Bologna resident, I will be rooting against you this coming weekend and hoping for a victory that will help us stay in Serie A. Best of luck in your final match, however!

G, If it was up to me, Bologna and Chievo would stay and Torino would fall to Serie B. That Juve-Torino Derby sucks anyway!

    Samson: Welcome back

You should really, really, really thank Mostafa for the job he has done ever since you abandoned us. At one point everyone had given-up, and Mostafa emailed me and told me that he felt deep down inside that he shouldn’t, and that he had hope for this blog, and the team. I respect Mostafa for that, and I hope that you can somehow manage to re-pay him for his work, wit, and dedication to this blog…..oh yes, Mostafa’s brother should be counted as one of this blog’s saviours!

Welcome back and let’s hope that next year, as our little Chievo keeps getting better, that you and Mostafa make this blog into one of the best on Theoffside.

GMaster, Thanks man! I have nothing but admiration and a soft spot for Bologna. Ben, Bologna’s writer, is a complete gentleman, and he is one of the nicest guys I have come across this whole site. Anyways, I haven’t checked up with Ben’s blog as of late, but I hope to see you supporting that blog.

I wish you and Bologna nothing but luck, and yes, this weekend’s game will be massive for both teams, and truly fun to watch.

    I predict a 2-1 Chievo win :D

    FORZA CHIEVO amici!
