Giuseppe Colucci (another one)
By: Mostafa | February 7th, 2009
I forgot to mention that We got sardo and Giuseppe Colucci from catania both on loan till the end of the season with option to buy i think. Anyway we have strengthened our defence. And now this new guy looks like he could be really good:
Wikipedia
Colucci started his professional career with Foggia, where he made 39 appearances, accompanied by a single goal in 3 seasons with the club. After a successful spell with the Foggia, he was transfered to Serie A side Roma. He failed to settle in with Roma and did not even make a single appearance for the Giallorossi during the 1999/2000 Serie A season. Hence, he was sent out on loan to France plying his trade with Bordeaux, where he spent one season, making a total of 38 appearances.
Sadly nothings perfect he went to our arch rivals Hellas
In 2003 he was sold to Verona, where he he would make 31 total appearances along with scoring 4 goals over the course of two years. He was then sold to Modena in a co-ownership deal. At Modena, he would go on to score one goal in 17 appearances. Then, Modena opted to sell their half of Colucci’s contract to Brescia, where Colucci would play a total of 30 matches, scoring 5 goals. He was also one of the teammates to Roberto Baggio, in his final season before retirement. For the 2004-05 Serie A season. Colucci played a total of 14 matches for yet another club. This time it was Reggina. He would then move on again, but to Livorno this time.
Well he gets transferred alot don’t you think..
After appearing in 27 matches and scoring 3 goals for the Tuscan team in a single season, he caught the eye of Pietro Lo Monaco, the transfer director of, then, newly promoted Serie A side, Calcio Catania. Oddly, for Catania, he wore the shirt number 9, usually designated for strikers. Colucci had a fairly descent time, during his first two years at Calcio Catania, but was linked with a move away from Sicily during 2008/09 summer transfer window, against his own will. During the 2008-2009 season, his third Serie A season with Catania, and longest spell with one team, Colucci found it hard to find a lot of playing time, under new coach Walter Zenga. He had only played more than three other players during the current season. Despite not wanting to leave Sicily, Colucci had to make the descision of either sitting on the bench or playing soccer at the highest level. On January 31, 2009 it was confirmed that Catania had purchased defender Alessandro Potenza, and also sent Colucci and teammate Gennaro Sardo on loan to relegation battlers Chievo Verona, until the end of the current season. Both players are set to make a return to the Etnei in June 2009.
There you have it, one defender and one middlefielder courtesy of Chievo Verona

Now all that remains is beating torino, Let’s hope Rosina is injured or something, this match is bound to be an exciting one, like pauly said “Despite what we may think, I have seen Torino play at home, and they seem to be quite tough there. It will def be a challenge to take 3 points from there.”
But i say onwards men to VICTORY!!
(The only army which fights on dokeyback!)

Ha! Colucci’s career is so comical. This guy has been around so much. There are a few others, but we an think of him as Calcio’s prostitute
I don’t think he wanted to leave Sicily because he thought it would make him look bad, again.
We’ll, its certinly true that the defese has been strenghtened, so I hope things continue to pick up!

Yes, Mostafa, thanks for thanking me here and there for still coming here to support!
I would hate for this blog to disappear. As you well know, with sucess comes attention, and with attention comes interest, and with interest comes fanhood. Its going to be hard to make “this” a success, not unless our Verona team gets to one day be lucky enough to join the ranks of the winning Serie A teams…..
Anyways, THANKS again!

Just like I had intuitively felt:
a 1-1 draw at Torino. NOT BAD, since we have not experienced any losses for this year, correct?
Im happy!
Oh, and it was Italiano that came through again! CLUTCH!
