Chievo Verona VS Lazio

By: Mostafa | October 28th, 2008

Seeing that i’m active today i decided that I could do a match preview.

This was an exciting match, and one to prove that lazio are no better than us

Even More Proof!
He looks Mad
Now what we have to do to win:
1- GET SOME GOALS, like the coach said, we are creating chances BUT we need to FINISH them!
2- Play hard (I know anyone will say that) But i mean… AIRTIGHT DEFENCE
3- Remember some facts about lazio!
-Zarate
-They are one of the best offenses in the Serie A
-They can come from behind real good
-They drew with another promoted team
-Pandev Is one heck of a shooter
4- There is a bright side, they have lost 2 in a row so maybe we can take some sort of advantage from this

Projected lineup; Sorrentino – Frey, Mandelli, Yepes, Mantovani –Marcolini, Bentivoglio, D’Anna, Pinzi – Esposito, Pellisier

Italliano is out
Langella Doubtful

Lazio XI; Carizzo – Lichtsteiner, Rozenhal, Siviglia, Kolarov – Brocchi, Dabo, Ledesma – Zarate, Pandev, Inzaghi

The trio upfront is all that worries me!

Where; Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi, Verona
When ; Wednesday 29th October 2008, 20:30 CET
Who ; Chievo (18th place, 6pts) vs Lazio (7th place, 13pts)
Why ; 3 pts and the ability to fly again!
What ; Serie A, Matchday 9

Form;

Chievo: D-D-L-D-L
Lazio : W-W-D-L-L

Goal.com on lazio and chievo:

Chievo

Giuseppe Iachini has been rather fortunate so far this season with injuries but he will have to do without the experience of Vincenzo Italiano in the middle after he picked up a knock away to Cagliari. Antonio Langella is still a doubt after missing the Cagliari game through injury. However, fortunately for Iachini, Chievo are suspension free.

Lazio

Delio Rossi will have to be creative as he deals with a long list of injured players against Chievo including Simone Del Nero, Fabio Firmani, Mourad Meghni, Francelino Matuzalem and Emilson Cribari.

There is a small glimmer of hope for the return of Tommaso Rocchi to the Lazio bench after his absence against Napoli due to a muscle strain; however he is still not fully recovered. What is more frustrating however for the Lazio tactician is the news that the creative pair of Stefano Mauri and Pasquale Foggia will both miss the game after both being handed two match suspensions for insulting referee Banti after the defeat to Napoli.

And it’s about time for Sergio Pellissier our star Stallion, to find the net he has been looking for it all season, i think he might Find it today

BUT Zarate hasn’t scored last match so he’s due to score now, it just seems this guy can’t go for 3 matches without scoring!

Here’s a place to find a steam for anyone that cares: It might not work though

Prediction: 1-1 The draw happened last 2 times!
Goals: Pellissier (11′)
Zarate (47′)
Motm: has to be the ref, lol

The lazio coach had this to say;

Chievo came from Serie B knowing that they would encounter problems. They have a clear way of working and a calm environment. They are a good team, fast in attack and like many other squads they can put us in difficulty.,

Inzaghi is enthusiastic and could be useful in the match, but we have many strikers. Zarate is criticised now because he started so well and now he hasn’t scored in a few games. On Sunday he played well but did not score and now all the things said are negative. He was not a phenomenon then, and he is not rubbish now.

Rocchi is better, I’m toying with the idea of putting him in from the start.

Anything else to be added will be added by Samson himself!, This is MY preview, Samson if you are free make one!

It’s a shame that the Chievo blog is just an online space where riomanistas can start arguments over petty stuff. A little club like Chievo deserves better although I must say Mostafa’s preview was surprisingly unprovocative.

Let boths sides enjoy what should be a good game of calcio.

oh, and Forza Lazio and Hellas!

Kerlon is on the bench. Hopefuly this boy will play soon. He is not 100% but he could put in a valuable 15-30 minutes.

Oh well, our best hope is that he’s rusty as hell Samson!

Btw, Kerlon needs to see some playing time. I’d like to at least see what the kid is all about and his potential.

Unfortunately, none of those P2P steams work for me and my computer with that UUSE software. Dammit!

Samson, I really wish this would have been the game for me to see.

Wow, Sounds like it was an outstanding. I will post a higlight clip as soon as one is posted on youtube. It takes a while, unlike Inter or Roma highlights that are uploaded by fans quickly.

Lets just say Chievo’s fan base is pretty microscopic.
