Chievo mid week news!

By: Mostafa | November 4th, 2008

Here are some chievo news bits ON THE FLY,

At least now we know why we don’t fly……

OK let’s start off with this;
FLY DONKEYS
Apparently palermo players are soooo happy for this victory against Chievo, but wasn’t that expected…

Miccoli

“Our strength stems from the unity of our group of players,”
“We were more compact yesterday and managed to convert the scoring opportunities we created. Now, we look forward to our next meetings, which will be extremely testing.”
“It was a great feeling, and I am happy that my team-mates and the coach trust me,”
“Our aim is to give our all every Sunday and then we will see where we stand. I think we can have a clearer picture of our ambitions between January and February.”

Does that mean they won’t play on Saturdays ?? lol just joking palermo fans!!

it is obvious that they LIKED the victory, apart from ;
Bad pitch ??
Bad ball ??

Cavani on the victory;

“Football is like that, you miss and you score goals,”
“I missed two chances but I did score, I have to continue working hard to keep improving.
“The pitch was bad, the ball didn’t bounce well. But we earned three points which are important for us. Palermo are a team who fight against any team and we have also shown it against the best sides. If we play like this we can cause problems to a lot of teams, we are on the right road.”

OK that was the palermo players on the match, now here is some REAL chievo news;

“THE COACH” is in doubt!

we might just lose him to Pillon…
here’s what HE* had to say;
*pillon

“I don’t know, right now I haven’t received any phone call,”
“For the time being, no-one called me up. I read on the newspapers that I was linked to the Chievo Verona bench.
“However, my first thought goes to Iachini: I don’t usually try to jinx my colleagues.”
“When one is at home, he always waits anxiously for a phone call to return to work on a bench,”

Self defense is the first reaction anyone could do;

The coach on what could be his removal;

“Seeing the result you might be deceived,”
“We hit posts and bars, but we failed to score, even though we did not do badly.
“I have nothing to reprimand my squad, which pushed forward for the goal.”

Iachini does not want to worry about his future at the club, even though everything seems to point out that he might be shown the door in the coming days.

“It’s up to the club to decide on the bench,”
“I only think about the pitch.
“Unfortunately today it did not go too well, but let’s look at the upcoming games.”

Yeah let’s do that
JUVENTUS :(

AC MILAN :(

SIENA I SEE THE LIGHT!!!!! (although we will probably lose to them too :D )

The battle of the Giuseppe’s Iachini vs Pillon;

Iachini Managing carer;
Venezia 2001-2002 RELEGATION, he was literaly COACHING WITHOUT A LICENSE
Cesena 2002-2003 Promoted to Serie B
Vicenza 2003-2004 Mid Table
Piacenza 2004-2007 4th in B behind (get this) Juve, Napoli, Genoa!!!!!!!
ChievoVerona 2007 – nowSerie A return

Hmm, looks like he’s got the makings of a good manager.

Pillon Managing carer; (certainly more experienced!)
Salvarosa 1992–1993 Interregionale
Bassano 1993–1994 Interregionale
Treviso 1994–1997 3 consecutive promotion from Interregionale to Serie B, good mark
Padova 1997–1998 SACKED AFTER A FEW WEEKS, BAD Sign BAD Sign!
Genoa 1998–1999 Unsucessful
Lumezzane 1999–2000 Stayed in C1
Pistoiese 2000–2001 Stayed in B
Ascoli 2001–2003 Won C1 , Shakey B preformance
Bari 2003–2004 Led them out of relegation (started work in jan)
Treviso 2004–2005 impressive season, ensured them a spot in the promotion playoffs.
Chievo Verona 2005–2007 very impressive sixth place, became 4th due to calciopoli,
Treviso 2007–2008 escaping relegation in the final weeks of the season.

Hmm, Great Serie C* coach, experienced B coach, BUT he is not Consistent

So you decide, Iachini VS Pillon, who do you want?

    So much for my predictions.

    Iachini is gone, and will be replaced by Domenico Di Carlo (ex-Parma, having first come to relative prominence with Mantova).

    Nice piece of Info Mostafa…..Thanks!

    I really feel bad for Iachini. He is right, this past weekends score doesn not reflect hwo the team did overall. If we count the bad calls, the near miss goals, and the constant push ahead that created many chances, the team was not that bad.

    I think management is looking for an elite position, around the top 10-15th position in the standings, but its just so early to give on Iachini…..Christ, they just got promoted…..it takes time.

    The video from last post clearly backs up what Iachini just said. He was too polite to discount the refs.

    That’s right, it was all because of the bad refereeing. Not because you guys have a team that wouldn’t even achieve a midtable-position in Serie B.

    1972: I agree man! Goal does suck as far as being accurate, but often times, they are on the right “trail” that leads one to the right info. I hate that website though…..writers suck. Mediocre at best.

    Based on that video, does the defenition of a flying donkey change? It’s evident that it doesn’t necessarily have to self propel and fly itself, right?…..
