AWWWW, IT IS SO GOOD TO BE BACK.
By: Samson | August 31st, 2008> Don’t Call It Comeback… Actually, Please Do.
- After watching both Roma V.S Napoli and Chievo V.S Reggina, I must say my eyes where hurting after all the jumping between the 2 games. We where facing a a strong Reggina, still being in Serie B form and NO OBINNA but we came out with all 3 points. I must say that it felt SO F*^%@ GOOD to see the boys prove themselves.
All the goals made today
- Recap – Most of the action came late in the second half:
Lineup
————-Squizzi————–
Matago Mandelli Vinicio Manovani
————-Italiano————–
–Bentivoglio——Marcolini—–
Lucianio——————-Iunco
————Pellisier————
Subs
Bogdani
Pinzi (84′ in for Marcolini)
Moro
Sorrentino
Patrascu
Langella (60′ in for Iunco)
D’anna (56′ in for Luciano)
— A bullshit penalty was given against Chievo in the 72′. Corradi converted with a great shot at the top of the net.
— After the B.S penalty, Chievo turned up the heat with brilliant control of the midfield that did not allow Reggina time to pick their nose; nonetheless score. Did not take long for Chievo to get justice (3 minutes to be specific). Chievo was awarded a well deserved penalty after a unintentional handball and a foul at the SAME TIME.
— Marcolini converted the PK on the 75′.
— Just when it seemed that the points where going to be split, Italiano (what a name) scored a screamer to the near post that GK- Campagnolo handled horribly.
— In the 90′ we where brought down to 10 men after a clumsy challenge made by (SUBSTITUTE) Langella that had him seeing red.
—- Reggina got WAY physical in stoppage time, getting 2 yellow cards. In the end, our beautiful flying donkeys came out with the win in the Serie A debut.
Esposito
— Recent false reports of Roma right fielder Mauro Esposito forced me to believe that the man was signing to Chievo. A deal has not been struck yet and it believed that if the deal DOES go through, Esposito will replace Iunco who is most likely headed to Fiorenze.
— I want Esposito. He did not settle well in TGIP’s (Spalleti) plans and had virtually no playing time. One highlight of his 2007/2008 run was against Parma. The awesome back heel to Francesco Totti that set up a his beauty of a GOAL. I think Esposito would provide much needed creativity to the attack. I doubt the signing will happen since we are hours away from the close of the transfer window and still no Espo.
Next Game
Prediction- This is a treat. Two promoted teams going face to face. It IS an away game but i think we will come home with the win
Score: – 3-1
Scorers – Chievo – Pellisier (34′ 46′), Bentivoglio (86′) Lecce Guillermo (24′)

Kerlon!? Any word on that!? It probably wasnt on the Roma blog so I didnt want you to miss it…
A great signing for the Donkeys and even better for Italy in their ability to continue to attract top class young foreign talent. We can add Kerlon to the signings of Jovetic and Pato…
